Privacy Policy

How we handle your information across ClicksAndBits apps and this website.

Last updated: 11 July 2026 · Effective: 11 July 2026

The short version. We build apps that respect you. We collect the least data we can, we tell you exactly what each app uses, we never sell your personal information, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time. Read on for the details.

1. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the websites, mobile applications, and services (together, the “Services”) offered by JEH Electronics under the ClicksAndBits Apps brand, including this website at clicksandbitsapps.com and the apps we publish on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

Because our apps do different things, some collect more information than others. This document is our master policy and describes practices that may apply across our Services. Each individual app also has its own privacy page that lists the specific data it collects, the permissions it requests, and any cloud or server features it uses. Where an app's own page differs from this master policy, the app-specific page controls for that app. You can find each app's page in our app catalog.

Some of our apps work fully offline and collect no personal data at all. Those apps say so clearly on their own pages.

2. Who we are

The data controller responsible for your information is:

JEH Electronics
ClicksAndBits Apps
Idaho, USA
Email: privacy@clicksandbitsapps.com

3. Information we collect

Depending on the app and how you use it, we may collect the following categories of information:

a. Information you provide to us

  • Account information — such as your name, email address, and password (stored in encrypted/hashed form) if an app offers accounts.
  • Content you create — notes, lists, files, settings, or other data you choose to save in an app, including when you sync it to our servers.
  • Support communications — the contents of messages you send us and your contact details, so we can respond.

b. Information collected automatically

  • Device & technical data — device model, operating system version, app version, language, and similar technical identifiers.
  • Usage & diagnostics — anonymized or pseudonymized data about how an app is used and crash/error reports that help us fix bugs and improve reliability.
  • Approximate location — coarse, IP-derived region (not precise GPS) may be inferred for security and analytics unless an app specifically requests precise location, in which case it will tell you and ask permission.

c. Information from third parties

  • App stores — Google Play and Apple provide us with purchase and subscription status (but not your full payment card details).
  • Sign-in providers — if you choose to sign in with a third-party account, that provider shares basic profile information you approve.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as health, biometric, or precise financial data) unless an app's specific function requires it and clearly discloses it on that app's page.

4. Device permissions

Our apps only request the device permissions they need to work, and each app explains its permissions on its own page. Depending on the app, these may include:

PermissionWhy an app might request it
CameraTo scan codes, capture photos, or record video within the app.
Photos / Storage / FilesTo let you import or save images and documents.
LocationFor location-aware features; precise location is only used when a feature requires it.
MicrophoneFor voice input or audio recording features.
NotificationsTo send reminders and alerts you've enabled.
Internet / NetworkTo sync data, load content, or connect to our servers.

You can review and revoke permissions at any time in your device's system settings. Some features may not work if a required permission is denied.

5. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the app and its features;
  • Sync your data across your devices when you use cloud features;
  • Process purchases, subscriptions, and restore-purchase requests;
  • Diagnose problems, fix bugs, and improve performance and reliability;
  • Understand which features are used so we can improve our apps;
  • Respond to your support requests and communicate important updates;
  • Protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats; and
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your content to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell your personal information.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data under one or more of these legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the app you requested), legitimate interests (to secure, maintain, and improve our apps), consent (for optional features like precise location or certain analytics, which you can withdraw at any time), and legal obligation.

7. How we share information

We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — trusted vendors who host our servers, deliver notifications, provide crash reporting, or process payments on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect your data and use it only for us.
  • App stores — Google and Apple, to process purchases and subscriptions.
  • Legal & safety — when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or JEH Electronics.
  • Business transfers — if JEH Electronics is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred, subject to this policy.

We never sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

8. Third-party services

Some apps rely on third-party services to function. Where used, these are disclosed on the app's own page. Common examples and their policies include:

  • Google Play services & billing — Google Privacy Policy
  • Apple App Store & services — Apple Privacy Policy
  • Analytics and crash reporting providers (as disclosed per app)
  • Cloud hosting and storage providers for apps with sync features

These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

9. Purchases & payments

Paid apps, in-app purchases, and subscriptions are processed by the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Your full payment details (such as card numbers) are handled by those platforms and their payment processors — we never receive or store your card information. We do receive confirmation of your purchase and entitlement status so we can unlock the features you bought and honor restore-purchase requests.

10. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described here — for example, for the life of your account, or as required to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. If you delete your account (see below), we remove your associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is legally required.

11. How we protect data

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and secure hosting. Data synced to our servers is stored securely and access is limited to what is necessary to operate the Services. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your information and to respond promptly to any incident.

12. International data transfers

JEH Electronics is based in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the U.S. and other countries. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection, such as using providers that offer appropriate safeguards.

13. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate data;
  • Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”);
  • Object to or restrict certain processing;
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • Request a portable copy of your data; and
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@clicksandbitsapps.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first.

14. Deleting your account & data

For apps that offer an account, you can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time:

  • In the app — where available, use the in-app “Delete account” option in settings; or
  • By email — write to privacy@clicksandbitsapps.com from the address associated with your account, and we will process your request.

Deleting your account removes your personal data and synced content from our active systems within a reasonable period, except for information we must retain for legal or security reasons. Apps that do not use accounts store your data on your device only — uninstalling the app removes that data.

15. Children's privacy

We take children's privacy seriously. Apps that are directed to children, or that participate in the Google Play Families program or Apple's Kids Category, comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the applicable app-store families policies, and the GDPR provisions for children where relevant. Those apps do not include behavioral advertising and limit data collection to what is needed to operate.

Apps that are not directed to children are intended for users aged 13 and older (or the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child has provided us personal information without appropriate consent, contact us at privacy@clicksandbitsapps.com and we will delete it.

16. U.S. state privacy rights

If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access or deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). To exercise your rights, contact privacy@clicksandbitsapps.com.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by other means. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
